How to play charades with friends
Choose a category and difficulty. In individual mode, enter player names in turn order; for team play, name both teams. Set 1–10 rounds and a 30–120 second turn, then start. The actor silently acts out the prompt; correct guesses earn one point. Each turn includes three passes.
Frequently asked questions
How do you play charades?
The player whose turn it is acts out a movie, TV show, or word without speaking. Everyone else tries to guess before time runs out. Correct guesses earn points, and players can pass to get a new prompt.
Can you talk during charades?
In classic charades, the actor does not speak or write the word. They use gestures and facial expressions to give clues.
Can I use movie and TV show titles for charades?
Yes. Choose Movies or TV series for a pool of local and international titles, or switch to animals, actions, jobs, and other categories.
Can charades be played individually or in teams?
Choose two teams to alternate turns and earn team points. In individual mode, players take turns acting and you can select the person who guessed correctly to track individual scores.
Can I set the time and number of rounds?
Yes. Choose 30–120 seconds for each turn and 1–10 rounds. Each turn includes three passes; the timer and passes reset when the next turn starts.
